In this house, the bedroom is one of the most important spaces to take care of—especially when life gets busy. There’s nothing quite like crawling into bed at the end of the day and feeling like you’ve created your own little retreat. When I decided to update my bedroom, I wanted to make it a cozy, calming space that I’d love to come home to every night.

The first big update was the "wood" wall behind my bed. I wanted something with character but also budget-friendly, so I used affordable peel-and-stick flooring from Home Depot. You can check out a sample of what I used here.

The peel-and-stick design was easy to install, and I secured it with a few finishing nails to make sure it stayed in place. The gray tones in the flooring became the base of my color scheme, but I didn’t want it to feel too muted, so I added a pop of yellow throughout the room for a bright, cheery contrast.

When it comes to bedding, Amazon has always been my go-to. I love having a soft, comfortable bed with lots of layers, and I tend to keep things simple but stylish with gray and yellow tones to match the wall. It makes everything feel cohesive and cozy.

The last big change I made was moving a couch that had once been in my office to the foot of the bed. It’s the perfect alternative spot when I want a quiet place to read or relax but I’m not quite ready to crawl into bed. I added a small coffee table, also from Amazon, to complete the look. Now I have a little reading nook that makes the room feel extra inviting.

And of course, no bedroom is complete without my adorable Frenchie, who’s always ready to jump on the bed and snuggle in!

I’m so happy with how this bedroom refresh turned out. It’s a space that feels cozy, functional, and like a real retreat from the outside world.
